Why we need career guidance?

Career guidance is the most important aspect of education. Without it education is like an undirected stream of water, which dries up as it fails to join the river.

We need career guidance because students didn't get any idea of what are the career path are available ,which are the field they can do as their area of interest & knowledge. They know only a few profession options and they do not even know whether they are right or wrong for them. Many students totally get confused which will be suitable way to select the dream path. They have limited knowledge of career and profession. 

Career counselling could start from the tender age of 3 but the need of it realized only during the turning point of one's life

First of all, every student should clear understood their career path which come under their area of interest and the subject they like most according to his knowledge and interest. Then select your career.

Many times it happens that the students flow the career path of their friends or they choose their career on the suggestion of their family member. Students forget that their friends are choosing their career as per their choice of interest and the family members are suggesting career path according to their knowledge.

Students forget that we have to choose your career according to your interest and knowledge, and they choose their career according to the suggestion of others and after that if it turns out wrong. You know what life turns out to be.

Students tend to take advice from anyone they think has an experience. But it may not always be right or let alone be the best one.

A majority of students do not get professional career guidance and counselling, which can help them in choosing what courses they want to pursue. Due to this, they never get a chance to know the different options available for them based on their aptitude and interests.

It  is very important  that you need to be given a general sense of direction and the best way to do is to have productive interactions that are aimed at achieving the desired results.

  

Ideally, the right time for students to start shortlisting their career options is in class 9. However, as we all know at that point in time, students are very distracted and are curious to explore various possibilities. So, getting them to start thinking and planning can be quite cumbersome.

The need for career guidance and counselling for students is increasing these days as a number of new-age career fields are being introduced to students. With little or no awareness about these futuristic careers, parents, as well as students, are in dire need of counselling. Therefore, the needs of career guidance and counselling has increased leaps and bounds.
